Session: “Student-Generated Chemistry Textbooks”
Monday, July 24, 2023 – SSC 1306 – 8:30 – 9:15 AM
Students create their own chemistry textbooks using lab notebooks. The course is driven by chemistry content evidenced by lab work. Students subsequently write up their lab reports to include a focus question, research, hypothesis, events, data, analysis, conclusion and an extension to the lab. Lab notebooks take on a very personal, very creative and very reflective experience. (I have never seen a student throw out his/her lab notebook at the end of the school year!)
